Tap valves are commonly referred to as heads, glands, cartridges and inserts, all of which typically describe the same component.
Before deciding what cartridge to buy you need to keep a few things in mind:
1. The type of Tap you have will determine what cartridge you need.
2. The size of the cartridge, For some Taps we can offer like for like but sometimes alternatives are available if originals are no longer available.
3. Certain cartridges have different spline counts on the thread, make sure yours matches the tap handle so it fits in correctly.

These valves are designed to wind down for opening and closing and so are designed for taps where you wind the handle to get water. They can be fitted to either the hot or cold side as they open in the same direction.
The available sizes for these valves are 3/8", 1/2", and 3/4" BSP thread sizes.

We strongly recommend using silicone grease when servicing your tap, as this facilitates smooth fitting of the parts and helps prevent wear and damage.
We Stock replacement valves and cartridges compatible with a wide range of popular tap brands, including Alpi, Brev, Bristan, Cifial, Crosswater, Dornbracht, Fantini, Gessi, Grohe, Keuco, Hudson Reed, Victoria Plumb, Ideal standard, Ultra, and many others.
When changing a tap valve, always remember to switch off the water supply beforehand, the Cold water feed is typically on the right hand side and the hot feed on the left.
If a tap has two handles, it will require either a pair of quarter turn valves or two wind-down (compression) valves. On the other hand, a tap with a single handle will need a ceramic disk cartridge.
